SVF LEADERSHIP TEAM information
The Leadership Team at Son Valley Fellowship gathers approximately six times annually, and / or as needed to reflect on, discuss, and make pivotal decisions about our fellowship's future. These discussions encompass a wide range of topics including pastoral and employee evaluations, funding strategies, the introduction of new policies and procedures, the development of both current and new ministry initiatives, addressing challenges and issues, and making vital financial decisions.
Leadership Team Composition
Our Leadership Team is composed of the following dedicated members:
Pastor
Pertinent Staff
Treasurer
Church Clerk
Additional committed members of SVF who are regular attenders of our church and consistently volunteer or serve within our ministry.
Decision-Making Process
In alignment with 1 Corinthians 1:10, which calls for unity and agreement, all motions within our team are decided by consensus rather than a vote. Should consensus not be reached, the matter is prayerfully considered and set aside for further discussion at a future meeting. To ensure decisions are made with the appropriate level of participation, a quorum of team members is required for any official motions to be approved.
Meeting Documentation
The Church Clerk diligently records the minutes of each meeting, which are then securely stored in our shared Google Drive Leadership Team Folder for easy future reference.
Adding New Team Members
To maintain a strong and well-represented leadership team, new members are added as needed. Current team members prayerfully and thoughtfully consider potential candidates from within our church community.
We recognize that serving on the Leadership Team is both a privilege and a responsibility, requiring a heart of humility, servanthood, and genuine care for our church community. For this reason, we look for candidates who are not pursuing a position or title, but who are committed to serving alongside others as part of a unified team, thoughtfully considering different perspectives and valuing the voices and opinions of those around them. We seek individuals who will approach the opportunity with prayerful consideration, and a sincere desire to serve God, our church family, and our community well.
We also strive to reflect the diversity of our congregation in age, background, gender, and stage in their walk with Christ. As we are reminded in Romans 12:4–6, each person brings unique gifts to the body of Christ, and we desire to reflect that richness in our leadership.
Once a short list of potential candidates is identified, the team spends time in prayer over these individuals. A member of the team will then reach out to invite them to consider serving on the Leadership Team.
Team Education and Mentorship
At Son Valley Fellowship, we are committed to cultivating a leadership team that reflects our core values of humility, community, service, and spiritual growth, all rooted in Scripture. To support this, we provide leadership resources and opportunities for discussion that encourage ongoing growth and alignment.
We also invite each team member to regularly reflect on their role, considering their spiritual walk, attitude, availability, and capacity to serve effectively. This helps ensure that our leadership remains healthy, engaged, and responsive to the needs of our church community.
