The History of Son Valley Fellowship
In September 1995 a group of Christians sensed an opportunity to establish a unique Christian fellowship in Kelowna. The Spirit led the first core group of Son Valley Fellowship to begin meeting in Glen and Carmen Zachery's basement. They saw the need for a contemporary and open worship experience and they shared a strong desire to reach out to seekers and serve believers by meeting their needs utilizing various means including small groups based on the New Testament model. Praying & LearningIt wasn't long before the Lord was blessing with regular attendance of around 100 people from a variety of Christian and non-Christian backgrounds.
    
In  of 1995  This group soon outgrew those quarters and moved to the foyer of Okanagan Adventist Academy.

During the first couple of years a provisional Planning Team was chosen to make decisions. As Son Valley Fellowship grew, members of this team saw the need for a more comprehensive structure. The Son Valley Fellowship family accepted the new design and by January 1998 the new operational structure was put into operation. Since then members have been seeking to focus their attention and energy ever more fully on achieving the Son Valley Fellowship vision and mission to Gods' glory.

Purpose Statement:
To turn non-Christians into passionate followers of Jesus Christ.
Vision Statement:
To be a biblical community where love, healing,
and transformation are being experienced.

Our Values

Son Valley Fellowship is a place where you can informally check out God with some of His people. We value open worship, open fellowship, and open sharing.

  • Effective Bible teaching changes lives.

  • Lost people matter to God and to our church.

  • Followers of Christ actively cultivate their relationship with Him.

  • The church should be a unified community of servants; all members developing and using their spiritual gifts.

  • Our church is biblically based, doctrinally sound and accountable to the British Columbia Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.

  • It is normal to pursue a life fully devoted to Christ and his cause.
